Philosophy of Education

Cornerstone Christian School believes in ministering to the total person: therefore, we feel the need to provide a quality education, both spiritually and academically to our students. The primary objective of the school is to provide a sound academic education integrated with a Christian view of God and the world. Children should be educated at home and at school with the consciousness that all truth is God's truth, including history, geography, science, music, and the arts; and that Jesus Christ is central in all learning and living. Cornerstone Christian School seeks to offer parents a positive alternative to public education. The primary reason for our existence is to offer a Christian foundation upon which the minds of children are developed. Character training is an important element at Cornerstone Christian School. We believe the heart of this training is obedience, which will eventually cultivate an inner self-discipline and is essential to the emotional, physical social and spiritual well-being of the student. The teacher is the authority in the classroom. Discipline is administered firmly, but fairly with love. To obey, to do right, and to love God and country are attitudes we strive to instill in each student. Cornerstone openly and effectively proclaims Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord, the only way of salvation. The heart and vision for Christian education in which children and young people grow in academic and spiritual maturity touches each student. Each student hears the gospel proclaimed every day; many students receive Christ as their personal Savior, a life changing experience.
